MINUTES FROM LIMA MAYOR CARL LUFT

As warm weather replaces the winter chills many people have started jogging and walking the sidewalks, enjoying the company of friends and neighbors, some with their favorite pets in tow. Please remember to pick up after your dogs and keep them on a leash at all times.

The Pastaria Pub is the newest business in Lima and we want to wish owner Jim Shelly the best of luck with his restaurant. Please stop in and greet him and patronize his business and all the other downtown stores and restaurants.

A public hearing was held on April 14th at 7:00 p.m. on the 2009/2010 budget.

A 2.25% tax increase has been approved which amounts to an increase of less than twenty-five cents a week for the average household. We are approaching the final stages of completing the comprehensive plan. I want to thank all the committee members who have worked on this very long and intense project. A draft of the plan has been distributed to the planning and zoning boards for their review.

There are several exciting upcoming events and I encourage everyone to come out and participate and enjoy them. The "Lima Sustainability Fair" will take place at the Lima Town Hall on Saturday May 2nd. The all day fair will include activities, information and fun for all ages. There is also the "Trailways to Treasures" on June 5th, 6th and 7th.
