DOGS: Please
clean up after your dogs when using our public park, to help us avoid
closing the Park to dogs. Section 57-14-C states that a dog
cannot deposit waste or commit a nuisance on private property,
sidewalks, or in Mark Tubbs Park.
MARK TUBBS PARK: New
signs are being posted at the Park, which will include the following
information: Park is open from 6 AM to 9 PM. Please clean
up after your dogs. This is a Carry in Carry out Park - please
remove all trash as you leave the Park.
BRUSH PICK-UP: will be
during the week of July 21st. All brush (only brush will be
picked up) must be cut in manageable lengths (no larger than 6" in
diameter) and placed parallel to the roadside in neat piles before July
21st at 7:00 AM. The village will only make one (1) trip down
each street. The next brush pick-up will be the week of
Sept. 15th.
SUMMER HOURS: Through
Labor Day (Sept. 1st) the Village office will be open from 7 AM to Noon
and from 1 PM to 3 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Wednesdays from 9 AM to Noon.
CEO: Only three (3) garage sales are allowed per address per year. Please remove your Garage Sale signs after your sale.
FIRE HYDRANTS: The
village crew will be flushing fire hydrants during the week of Sept.
8th from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Please excuse the inconvenience, as
the water may be riley during this time.
PESTICIDES: Please inform your neighbors when putting down lawn chemicals.
FIREWORKS: The Village and Town are providing Fireworks on Friday, July 4th at Mark Tubbs Park starting at 9:45 PM.
SEWER: As explained in
last year's newsletter the sewer rate increases were being spread out
over a three (3) year period. This is the second year in that
time line and the basic sewer rate will increase by $12.00 a quarter
starting with the September billing. The Board will also
investigate any means to reduce the operational cost of the wastewater
treatment facility.
CROSSROADS FESTIVAL: The
annual Crossroads Festival will be held on Aug. 2nd. All day
family fun events including Fireman's Breakfast, Bed Race, arts and
crafts, food and drinks, children's entertainers, Rock Ventures
Mobil Climbing Wall and an evening performance by Night Owl.
RECYCLING OPPORTUNITIES: Dominican
Hope is collecting used cell phones and accessories, and all used ink
cartridges for printers, copiers and faxes. Collection boxes in
Lima are at the Post Office, Save A Lot, Village/Town offices, all HF-L
schools and St Rose Church. Also a collection shed for used
clothing, shoes, belts, purses, linens, blankets and curtains is
located in the parking lot of St. Rose Church. Please no rags or
fabric scraps, items collected are distributed to local clothing
closets. Tax-deductible receipts are available at the shed.
FARMER'S MARKET: will be held every Tuesday on the Presbyterian Church lawn from 3 -6 PM from June 10th through October 2008.
